It feels like Deja-Vu with another top notch performance from our Leopards girls in the Hampshire league!
We all braved the elements today and headed down to St Marks for a game against Firefly's- and thanks to the storm we all sailed along the M3!
We had the full squad, although Chloe is battling a cold-not that you could tell!
The strength in this team is formidable and I feel like they go from strength to strength every year with the connections on and off court growing and growing.
We got off to a strong start and secured a solid lead from the start- but we talked at each quarter about the need to remain focused and concentrate on our own consistency- there were moments where our passing went a little awry- but overall it was a great solid performance from all.
It was another great performance from all of our defensive players with many balls being picked up across the court- and on the rare occasions that we misplaced a ball or lost possession it was a whole squad effort to get it back!
Today saw the girls hit (and exceed) the 300 mark on goals scored so far this season- actually 322- which is over 100 goals more than any other team in the league - that is some achievement! Equally we have only conceded just over 100 goals- showing we have strength and depth at both ends! Its a whole team effort and I could not be more proud of these girls!
The oppositions POM were Alicia and Annabel who both had great games in attack and worked hard to challenge balls with some well timed-strong drives down the court.
Coaches POM's from Cassie and I were Ellie and Chloe who both had fantastic games with so many defensive turnovers from them both- even with Chloe being under the weather!
Well done girls- another great performance- looking forward to seeing how you get on next week at the Pulse Tournament- bring it on!!!
