Fair to say it was a tough game, and not one the Wildcats were looking forward to as they met the top of the table Panthers Leopards.
Despite that the girls left everything they had on court and worked tirelessly- and in my opinion got better and better each quarter!
We struggled to get going in the first quarter and let the other team dominate a little and force their play and style onto us. However we picked ourselves up in quarter 2 and focused on getting in front of players and not trying to force the ball- or launch it down court. This helped and we started to gain momentum and confidence.
Whilst we didnt get the win on this occasion there were lots of positives to take away from the game.
-Jess and Izzy worked hard in the defence circle and picked up any rebounds and tracked their players well putting the shooters under pressure
-Coaches POM Isla kept up that defensive pressure helping to transition through court and picking up many tips and intercepts midcourt
-Mid Court the girls connected well and worked so hard as they bought the ball down and worked it around the cirlce
-Shooters improved each quarter with confidence
Thanks to Beth from Pumas for providing some fresh legs!
