Well the forecast promised blue skies and delivered nothing but cold damp weather! But that didnt deter jaguars!
Whilst it was not the result we would have wanted, all the girls worked hard on court. The first quarter caught us off guard and a well drilled and taller/older opposition took advantage of our sleepiness with us bunching and not giving ourselves room on court.
We regrouped at half time and talked about the need for space, not forcing balls and the defensive pressure across the court! Everyone then took to court- a little cold and damp but determined to do their jobs and we saw the girls fight back- we went on to either draw or win 2 of the next quarters, but sadly the 7 goal deficit was too much to pull back against such a good opposition.
We improved every quarter and started to get back into the groove we left last season with so I have no doubt we will come back stronger next time we meet !
Well done for Tvisha for trying GD and doing an excellent job; India made a fantastic impact when stepping in WA- and equally some of her shots as GS defied mechanics with them being at least 2-3 times the distance of her entire body length in height and distance! Caitlyn had a great game in WD with so many tips onto the ball!
Oppositions POM was Megan and Rose for their relentless energy and Rose's shooting and Supporters POM went to Isla for putting into practice everything discussed throughout her discussions with the coaches!
Well done all- ive no doubt that was a warm up to some wins coming!
