This was definitely a game of two halves! We started off very strong winning the first quarter 10:6. There were some great passages of play and our shooters worked well in the circle to open up space and were on point. At our defensive end, pressure from all lead to Waverley Vipers sending balls off the goal-line.
Waverley Vipers came back at us during the second quarter but we still managed to maintain our lead and we went into the third quarter three goals ahead. The highlight of the second quarter for me was Willow, who became more confident in going for interceptions and gained some brilliant clean interceptions and tips. A little more work on re-setting and these interceptions, gained not just from Willow but all, will convert to goals, we will be at 100%!
I think in the second half of the game we lost a bit of energy, tiredness crept in and we made a few fundamental mistakes. Also Waverley Vipers were definitely more aggressive, on and off the ball.
Despite the result the game was a great one to watch, well done all. Congratulations to Willow and Maddie for POM and to Neala for CPOM for her dogged defence and support for when we were attacking.
