A marvellous win that was a delight to watch last night from our Lions team.

It was such a pleasure to coach the Lions team in their match last night having not seen them for a while it was great to see the progress they've all made individually- and as a team collective!

We took a strong lead in the first quarter with some great passages of play and passing into space. We also saw a lot of turned over balls with defensive efforts from the entire team- great arms over from everyone which paid off with those picked up balls. We managed to transition the ball well up court and the shooting circle showed great movement in the circle moving to get themselves in good shooting spots with ball in hand!

We continued our lead throughout the game- although we wont talk about our dodgy 3rd quarter :-)

We spoke at half time about the need for their to be 2 options and people coming forward onto the ball- we tended to try and rely a little too much at times on overheads and our opposition managed to take the ball from us.

We also spoke about looking for the short easy option after a turnover so we had time to reset and slow down as it got a little frantic.

Overall the girls showed great discipline and took on board the feedback and adjusted- still more work needed on those front options and coming onto the ball but so much confidence and great passages.

Well done girls- it was a very well earned and deserved win with fantastic play from all!

Oppositions POM went to Martha for her accurate shooting and great circle movement, and also Lana for her outstanding defensive pressure that saw us get many turnovers- lovely defensive team work in the circle!

Coaches POM went to Grace- her first game with Panthers Lions and she had a fantastic effort growing in confidence every quarter!
