Despite the score line- this game was far closer and tougher than the score suggests!

Fireflys were a tough team and well disciplined making it hard from the start of the game! It took us a while to settle and play our game, and with lots of thankfully minor injuries there were lots of unplanned changes!

Once we settled into the game we started to find our groove and usual play was resumed! We spoke about the need to do less work as we were running hard- which is great but unnecessary when taking the defence with you! This saw the girls focus on adding their changes of direction in!

We did some great work tuning over ball but would then throw it away so we started to focus on ensuring we had an easy option after a turnover to allow us time to settle!

Once we hit the second half we started to really settle into our game and pull away with some fantastic defensive pressure across court and some great link up play with great movement and timing. The shooters worked hard with great accuracy - and some fantastic long bombs for good measure too! We almost got an extra goal with Nicole forgetting she was wearing the GK bib and turning to post for a shot- thank you for the giggle Nicole!

Great teamwork girls and well done on fighting back to take a convincing win in the end!
